A Gwinnett County Police Department investigation into a reported robbery has led to human trafficking and prostitution-related charges against a Gwinnett County man.
Officers responded to a robbery call on January 20 in the 2000 block of Satellite Pointe in Duluth. When they arrived, they were met by 28-year-old Changze Li, who told officers a burglary was in progress inside the apartment and allowed them entry.
Police say that upon entering, they heard glass shattering and encountered 30-year-old Dominique Gray, who was bleeding from his hand. According to authorities, Gray failed to comply with commands and allegedly threw his phone at officers, prompting them to deploy a Taser.
Gray was arrested and charged with reckless conduct, pandering, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, armed robbery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, and kidnapping.
During the initial investigation, Li was also taken into custody and charged with pimping and keeping a place of prostitution.
Weeks later, vice investigators reported discovering an online advertisement allegedly linked to prostitution that matched Li’s phone number. Detectives arranged an undercover operation at an apartment in unincorporated Duluth, where they say Li was found hiding inside a room.
He was arrested again and now faces additional charges, including human trafficking, pimping, keeping a place of prostitution, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Li, identified as a Buford resident, remains in the Gwinnett County Jail without bond as the investigation continues.
