A man has been arrested in Thane in connection with the alleged kidnapping and murder of an 18-year-old girl from Satara district, Maharashtra, police said on Friday.
The accused, Dnyaneshwar Tukaram Sutar (37), was apprehended on Thursday as he stepped out of Thane railway station, according to Senior Inspector Bharat Chowdhary.
The case, registered at Koyna Police Station in Satara, concerns the disappearance of the girl from her village Talai Maneri in Patan taluka in August 2024. Police alleged that Sutar abducted her and took her to multiple locations before allegedly murdering her in January 2025.
