Chandigarh Cyber Crime Police Bust Online Exam Racket

Two Kaithal residents arrested over Coast Guard exam scam

The Chandigarh Cyber Crime Police have arrested two individuals in connection with an organised racket involving online government examinations, including the Coast Guard recruitment test.

The arrests were made in relation to FIR No. 56, dated March 29, 2022, registered under Sections 409, 420, and 120-B of the IPC and relevant provisions of the Information Technology Act at Sector 34 police station, Chandigarh.

Pawan Kumar (39) – Resident of Kaithal, Haryana

The case originated from a complaint by the Head of Administration of a private school, where irregularities were detected during the conduct of the Coast Guard examination and other online tests. The examination process had been outsourced to a private firm based in Sector 34/A, Chandigarh.

DSP (Cyber Crime and IT) A. Venkatesh confirmed that the investigation revealed a coordinated effort to manipulate results and compromise the integrity of the online examination process. Further investigation is ongoing to identify additional accomplices.
