Branson Albert Arrested Again After Police Chase and Gunfire in SeaTac

Federal Way man faces new charges after fleeing police and possessing firearms

by Sophia Bennett

Branson Albert, a 37-year-old man from Federal Way, was arrested once again after fleeing from police in a stolen vehicle. Albert, who has multiple pending felony auto theft cases in King County courts, was involved in a police chase on November 10, 2024, near 2500 South 320th Street in Federal Way.

Albert was reportedly driving a Cadillac SUV that had been stolen from the parking garage at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (Sea-Tac) earlier this month. The vehicle was tracked by GPS, and upon investigation, a Federal Way police officer spotted Albert. During the chase, Albert allegedly fled on foot, prompting an officer to fire at him, though he was not struck.

A 9mm handgun was later discovered in the parking lot where the chase began. Albert was arrested and booked into the King County Jail. Despite the seriousness of the charges, prosecutors requested bail be set at $150,000. However, a judge allowed Albert’s release on his own recognizance, and on November 12, he was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.

At the time of this arrest, Albert was awaiting trial on three other felony auto theft cases. He has a history of car theft convictions dating back to 2016 and 2017 and has been the subject of at least 30 warrants. In a previous 2023 case, Albert was accused of ramming Renton police in a stolen car but was released after posting bail of $20,000.

Prosecutors are continuing to pursue charges against Albert, who remains under scrutiny for violating previous court orders to refrain from committing further offenses.
