Elijah Foucher Arrested for Credit Card Theft in Vermont

North Adams man cited after months-long investigation

SHAFTSBURY, Vt. — A North Adams, Massachusetts man has been cited in connection with credit card thefts in Vermont following a months-long investigation.

According to the Vermont State Police, troopers responded to a car break-in on October 14, 2025, at approximately 1:33 a.m. in Shaftsbury. Multiple vehicles had been broken into, and a credit card was reportedly stolen from one of the cars.

The card’s owner later reported unauthorized purchases. Using video surveillance, eyewitness accounts, and digital forensics, investigators identified 22-year-old Elijah Foucher as allegedly responsible for the fraudulent charges.

Foucher was brought to the Bennington Police Department for questioning and issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court – Bennington Criminal Division on April 13.

He faces charges including:

Grand Larceny

Identity Theft

Illegal Possession of a Credit Card

False Pretenses
