Bulloch County meth investigation leads to two arrests

by Sophia Bennett

BULLOCH COUNTY, Ga. — The Bulloch County Crime Suppression Team (CST) and the Criminal Investigations Division have arrested two individuals following an investigation into methamphetamine distribution and thefts in the area.

The investigation targeted Williams Cody Sparks of Portal and Jace Adam Best of Sylvania, leading to arrest warrants for both.

On Jan. 29, Best was apprehended at a residence in Screven County with assistance from the Screven County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities said the arrest was made without incident, and Best was transported to the Bulloch County Jail.

After Best’s arrest, Sparks evaded law enforcement. On Feb. 5, investigators tracked Sparks using the Flock license plate reader system when he returned to Bulloch County. During a traffic stop, Sparks attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended and taken to the Bulloch County Jail.

Both Sparks and Best remain in custody. Authorities confirm the investigation into meth distribution and related thefts is ongoing.
