LINCOLN, N.D. — The mayor of Lincoln, North Dakota, is facing a drunk driving charge following a weekend arrest within city limits.
According to Lincoln Police Chief, an officer arrested Mayor Keli Berglund around 9 p.m. Saturday. No additional details surrounding the traffic stop or arrest were released.
Court records show Berglund was cited for driving under the influence, with a reported breath test result of 0.087, which is above North Dakota’s legal limit of 0.08.
Berglund’s initial court appearance is scheduled for May 11.
The Lincoln city auditor declined to comment on the case, and attempts to reach Berglund for comment have not yet been returned.
Berglund was first elected mayor in April 2023.
