Madurai: In connection with the murder of M. Dhanasekarapandian (35) near Silaiman, Madurai district police have arrested seven persons, including the victim’s wife Kaviya (27) and her paramour K. Kuttipetchi (31), a resident of Avaniyapuram.
Police said preliminary investigations revealed that Kaviya and Kuttipetchi, also known as Petchimuthu, were in a long-standing relationship that began during Kaviya’s school days. The relationship allegedly continued even after her marriage to Dhanasekarapandian.
Investigators suspect that the illicit relationship played a key role in the murder, which took place on Friday near Silaiman. Based on evidence and interrogation, police arrested the accused and registered a case.
Further investigation is underway to establish the exact sequence of events and the role of each accused in the crime.
