JOHNSON COUNTY, Ky. — Jeffrey Blair, 48, of Sitka, was arrested Jan. 6 after deputies with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office found meth and marijuana in his possession.
Deputies responded to a Hager Hill home following a 911 call reporting a man sitting in a truck in a driveway for two hours. First responders said Blair was passed out and attempted to wake him.
Upon taking Blair into custody, deputies discovered marijuana in the vehicle. A further search uncovered a clear bag containing approximately one ounce of what officers believed was meth, a smaller bag with 3.5 grams of the substance, and three additional bags of marijuana packaged separately. Nearly $2,500 in cash was also seized.
Blair reportedly told deputies he had “taken something” the night before. He admitted responsibility for the marijuana but claimed the meth was not his. A sobriety test was conducted before he was taken to Paintsville ARH. Blair initially consented to a blood draw but noted that suboxone and marijuana would appear in his system.
He was charged with:
Driving on a DUI-suspended license – first offense
Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – substance
Trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree (≥2 grams meth)
Trafficking in marijuana (<8 ounces) – first offense
