Abdul Nazeer, Pramod P Arrested for Fake Gold Fraud

Two Held for Attempting to Pledge Counterfeit Gold

Two men were arrested in Belthangady taluk for allegedly attempting to pledge fake gold ornaments at a cooperative bank branch. The accused have been identified as 43-year-old Abdul Nazeer and 50-year-old Pramod P, both from Bantwal taluk.

According to police, the incident took place Monday morning at the cooperative society branch in Parenki village. The suspects visited the branch, with Abdul Nazeer claiming to pledge three gold chains. However, appraisers examining the ornaments discovered they were counterfeit.

Following a complaint from the branch manager, a case was registered at Punjalkatte police station under Sections 318(4) (cheating) and 62 read with Section 3(5) (crime committed with common intention) of the BNS. Police conducted an investigation, arrested the accused, and produced them before a court.
