Bronx Man Deikel Alcantara Arrested for Stealing 9/11 Memorial Rose

A 21-year-old Bronx resident, Deikel Alcantara, was arrested and charged with grand larceny after allegedly stealing a gold-plated rose from the 9/11 memorial at the Church of St. Francis of Assisi in Chelsea.

The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon when Alcantara entered the church and took the rose from the memorial. Authorities confirmed that the suspect, a frequent visitor to the church, had been escorted off the property in the past.

The arrest took place on Friday evening, and Alcantara now faces charges related to the theft.
