In a significant success under the state government’s ‘War Against Drugs’ campaign, Ludhiana police arrested a drug peddler and recovered 273 grams of heroin and 61 grams of ICE from his possession.

The accused, Tarnveer Singh, alias Dhanna, a resident of Neelon Kalan village, was apprehended on January 30 while driving his black Hyundai Verna (PB 10 HS 7707) from Machhiwara Road towards Kohara Chowk, Ludhiana. Police acted swiftly after receiving specific intelligence about his movement and registered an FIR under the NDPS Act. Drug money and narcotics were seized from the vehicle.

ACP Inderjit Singh of Industrial Area-A stated that Tarnveer Singh is a habitual drug peddler with four previous criminal cases. During interrogation, it was revealed that he was part of a larger network managed by a Punjab-origin man residing in the USA, who directs Tarnveer via Instagram. The US-based operator provides instructions for sourcing and distributing drugs in Punjab, indicating a well-organized international supply chain.

Police confirmed that further investigation is underway to dismantle the network entirely and apprehend the main suppliers involved in the racket.
