Ramavatar and Hansraj Arrested in Rs12 Crore Cyber Scam

Tonk police nab duo using fake SIMs and fraudulent online links

he District Special Team (DST) of Tonk police on Friday arrested two men accused of running a massive cyber scam across 22 states, defrauding people of an estimated Rs12 crore.

The accused have been identified as Ramavatar (26) and Hansraj (28). Police recovered Rs1 lakh in cash, five mobile phones worth Rs5 lakh, numerous SIM cards, and a vehicle reportedly purchased with the proceeds of crime.

According to SP Rajesh Kumar Meena, the duo faced a total of 404 complaints lodged on the National Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP), including cyber fraud complaints totaling Rs2.4 crore. Investigation also revealed 82 SIM cards issued across various states in the possession of the accused.

A case has been registered against them at Dooni Police Station, and further investigation is underway to identify other possible members of their criminal network.

SP Meena warned the public not to share OTPs or open APK files from unknown sources and urged anyone who suspects attempted cyber fraud to immediately report it by calling the 1930 toll-free number.
