HATTIESBURG, Miss. — Four men were arrested Sunday in connection with a shooting at an apartment complex on Westover Drive that also damaged several vehicles, the Hattiesburg Police Department (HPD) reported.
The arrested individuals and charges are as follows:
Jameer Arrington, 21 — possession of a stolen firearm
Brandon McNulty, 20 — possession of a stolen firearm
Macaleb Perry, 25 — possession of a stolen firearm
Kortez Harper, 26 — fugitive from justice and discharging a firearm; Harper was also wanted in Plano, Texas, for aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer
The incident occurred around 12:35 p.m. Sunday. Officers responding to the scene found multiple shell casings and damage to the apartment building, as well as to nearby vehicles. No injuries were reported.
During the investigation, HPD recovered three firearms, all of which were stolen and linked to recent burglaries in Collins and Columbia, Mississippi.
HPD said the investigation is ongoing, with additional charges possible as authorities continue to gather evidence.
