Delhi Police have arrested Himanshu Chauhan, a national-level shooter with multiple medals, for his alleged involvement in an interstate cyber fraud racket. The syndicate cheated a Delhi resident of over Rs 40 lakh.
According to officials, Chauhan, a resident of Agra, Uttar Pradesh, facilitated cybercrime operations by arranging mule bank accounts used to channel defrauded funds. The investigation was carried out by the Crime Branch through detailed technical and financial surveillance across states.
The case traces back to an e-FIR registered in June 2025 at the Cyber Cell police station, where the victim reported being duped through fake online gaming platforms, fraudulent stock trading, and IPO investment schemes. Transactions totaling Rs 40.27 lakh were made via IMPS, NEFT, and UPI, with Rs 8 lakh credited into a single mule account on one day.
Authorities confirmed that further investigations are underway to map the complete money trail and apprehend other syndicate members. Chauhan remains in police custody.
