Muzaffarnagar police have solved the murder of 45-year-old Mamta Sharma, whose body was discovered earlier this week with her mouth taped on the bank of a local canal. Authorities arrested her lover, Sandeep Kumar, in connection with the crime.
SSP Sanjay Kumar stated that Mamta, a domestic help, was involved in a relationship with Sandeep. The couple reportedly had frequent disputes over Mamta’s alleged involvement with other men and repeated demands for money.
During questioning, Sandeep confessed to smothering Mamta to death on Tuesday night. The post-mortem report confirmed the cause of death. Police seized the victim’s purse and the handcart used to transport the body. The accused has been charged with murder and sent to jail, with the investigation officially closed.
