Colva Police arrested Akash Sajith (36) and Pratik Barman (41) during a targeted raid at Varca, Salcete, Goa, seizing narcotics worth over Rs2 lakh in the early hours of Monday.
Police Sub-Inspector Nikhil Khajenekar (28) of Colva Police Station said the operation was conducted between 5:50 am and 9:30 am at flat No. N1/8, Aansav Verde following reliable information about illegal drug activity.
During the raid, Akash Sajith was found in possession of 6.79 grams of MDMA valued at Rs1,35,800 and 2.43 grams of charas worth Rs24,300. Pratik Barman had 2.02 grams of MDMA valued at Rs40,400. The combined value of the seized substances totals approximately Rs2,00,500.
The Colva Police registered a case under Sections 22(c) and 20(b)(ii)(A) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. Investigation is ongoing, and FIR copies have been forwarded to the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Margao, and concerned senior officers.
