LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. — During the holiday week, the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reduction Team (SCARR) and Street Crimes and Rapid Response team were involved in multiple enforcement actions.
On December 24, deputies assisted the NC Highway Patrol with an alcohol-involved crash on NC 11 North.
During the investigation, a SCARR deputy discovered felony narcotics, including cocaine and methamphetamine.
The driver, Rashad Barnes of Kinston, was cited and arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of cocaine.
Barnes was held without bond under a PIA hold at the Lenoir County Detention Center.
