The Anti-Narcotics Task Force of Barabanki arrested three active drug traffickers on Thursday during a major operation near Sultanpur village in Jaunpur district.
The accused have been identified as Rahul Singh (36), Shani Singh (38), and Satyaprakash Singh alias Dablu (38). The operation, conducted in front of Vidyawati Marriage Lawn on the NH 731 Varanasi-Lucknow route, led to the seizure of 90 kg and 70 grams of cannabis, valued at approximately Rs 50 lakh, along with a motorcycle used in the operation.
Authorities confirmed that the arrests were part of a focused crackdown on narcotics trafficking in Barabanki and surrounding districts. The seized drugs and vehicle have been secured for further investigation, and the accused are in police custody as the case proceeds.
The successful operation highlights the proactive measures of the Barabanki Anti-Narcotics Task Force in curbing illegal drug trade in the region.
