The Navi Mumbai Police’s Anti-Narcotics Cell has arrested 15 individuals following the bust of a major drug racket that trafficked heroin and opium from Punjab to Navi Mumbai, officials said on Friday.
Police identified the mastermind of the operation as Kulmeet Singh Dalvir Singh Randhawa, also known as Fauji, who was apprehended on January 21. His sons, Sunny Randhawa and Vicky Randhawa, had been arrested earlier.
Authorities said the accused were procuring heroin and opium from Punjab and transporting it to Navi Mumbai using truck drivers, before distributing it across various parts of the city.
All 15 arrested individuals are currently lodged in Taloja jail. The Anti-Narcotics Cell stated that further investigations are ongoing to uncover the full network behind the racket.
