ALFRED, Maine (WGME) – A Maine man was arrested after deputies discovered methamphetamine and fentanyl during a traffic stop in Alfred.
The York County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies stopped a vehicle on Sunday after noticing its registration plates belonged to a different vehicle. The driver, 34-year-old Jeffrey Hodgkins of Waterboro, was found to be in possession of meth and fentanyl.
Hodgkins was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of fentanyl. Authorities also submitted a request to the district attorney’s office to indict him for attaching false plates.
He was taken to York County Jail, where his bail was set at $5,060.
