An Ayurvedic doctor, Dr. Mallesh, has been arrested for allegedly orchestrating the murder of his uncle and aunt by administering a fatal dose of anesthesia and fleeing with their valuables, officials confirmed on Wednesday.
The victims, Chandrappa (78) and Jayamma (75), were found dead in their home at Bhootanagudi Layout, Bhandravathi town, according to Shivamogga Superintendent of Police Nikhil B.
“We registered the case as an Unnatural Death Report (UDR) and have taken Dr. Mallesh, the nephew of the victims, into custody,” SP Nikhil B said. Preliminary investigations suggest that financial issues may have motivated this heinous act.
Police are continuing their investigation to recover the valuables and determine the full extent of the crime.
