Gangrar police have arrested four men in connection with the murder of 22-year-old Shankar Singh, who was allegedly held captive and assaulted on false charges of battery and tyre theft in the Gangrar police station area of Chittorgarh district. Authorities also recovered weapons and vehicles allegedly used in the crime.
The accused were identified as:

Shyamlal (26) – Hamirgarh, Bhilwara
Satya Narayan (28) – Gangrar, Chittorgarh

Chittorgarh SP Manish Tripathi stated that on January 14, the police control room received information that Shankar Singh, son of Bhagwan Singh Rawna Rajput, was held captive by the operator of Mahadev Hotel and others near a Reliance petrol pump in Gangrar.
“The victim was brutally assaulted with the intent to kill on false allegations of battery and tyre theft,” SP Tripathi said. Shankar Singh later succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Bhilwara.
Following the youth’s death, his family staged a protest outside the hospital mortuary, demanding financial assistance from the state government. After counseling by officials, a post-mortem examination was conducted. Based on the family’s complaint, Gangrar police registered a murder case and initiated an investigation, which led to the arrests.
