Bengaluru police have booked former Uttar Pradesh MLA Bhagwan Sharma, also known as Guddu Pandit, for allegedly sexually assaulting a 40-year-old woman. A case has been registered under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (sexual intercourse by deceitful means).

According to the complaint, the assault occurred at a hotel near Kempegowda International Airport (KIA). The victim stated that she and her minor son traveled from Uttar Pradesh to Bengaluru on August 14 at Sharma’s insistence. He allegedly took them to multiple locations across the city.

On August 16, Sharma reportedly took the woman and her son to Chitradurga, and the next day, arranged a hotel room near KIA. Inside the room, he allegedly forced the victim into sexual intercourse against her will and threatened to kill her when she resisted.

The Bengaluru police are investigating the matter and collecting evidence to proceed with legal action against the former MLA.
