HUA HIN, Thailand — Immigration police arrested a Swedish man identified as Noah yesterday, January 18, following reports of suspicious behavior in Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan. Authorities later confirmed he was wanted for serious criminal charges in Sweden.
The arrest was carried out by Region 3 Immigration Police after residents reported a foreign man who rarely left his room, allegedly smoked cannabis indoors, and disturbed neighbors with the odor. Investigators found that Noah had fled Sweden about a year ago to avoid prosecution.
Police also noted his reckless behavior in Thailand, including driving under the influence of drugs and possessing an unlicensed weapon. Authorities said his presence posed a threat to public safety and violated immigration laws.
Noah initially denied being the fugitive, claiming his appearance had changed. However, biometric verification confirmed his identity, including a large neck tattoo matching records from Swedish authorities.
Immigration officials revoked his permission to stay in Thailand, and he is now in custody pending further legal proceedings and deportation. Authorities emphasized that Thailand will continue cracking down on foreign criminals attempting to evade justice while residing in the country.
