Pensacola, Fla. — A Pensacola man has been sentenced to 15 years in state prison following a drug trafficking investigation that uncovered large quantities of methamphetamine and other illegal narcotics.

According to authorities, 39-year-old David Blackman III pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, along with substances containing fentanyl, cocaine, and cocaine base. Prosecutors said Blackman was distributing drugs directly from his Pensacola residence.

In December 2023, law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at Blackman’s home. During the search, agents seized more than $8,500 in cash, over 850 grams of methamphetamine, and additional narcotics including fentanyl, cocaine, and cocaine base.

Officials emphasized the impact of the arrest and sentencing on community safety. DEA Miami Field Division Special Agent in Charge Deanne L. Reuter said the case reflects strong cooperation among local and federal agencies and helps remove dangerous drugs from the streets.
