During a routine patrol in Srinagar’s Habbakadal–Gowkadal area, police apprehended two individuals and seized a significant quantity of contraband capsules and cash.
The arrests occurred on Sunday morning when the suspects, moving from Gowkadal towards Ganpatyar, attempted to flee upon spotting the police. Officers tactfully intercepted and detained the duo.
The accused have been identified as Zameer Ahmed Matta, son of Gulam Rasool Matta, resident of Basant Bhag, and Irfan Ahmed Jogi, son of Gulam Mohd Jogi, resident of Ganpatyar.
Authorities stated that further investigations are underway to determine the source of the contraband and any possible links to a wider network operating in the city.
