SPRINGTOWN, Texas — Giovanni Primo Blount, 19, of Poolville, was arrested after allegedly executing a fraud scheme at the Springtown McDonald’s that resulted in approximately $680 in unauthorized charges.
Police advise customers who recently used debit or credit cards at the restaurant to review their statements for suspicious activity.
According to authorities, Blount processed legitimate transactions while simultaneously using a personal device to charge an additional $10–$20 per purchase. The extra funds were allegedly directed to an account under his control.
Blount is currently held at the Parker County Jail, charged with Theft of Property ($100–$750). Additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues. Customers, including those who have received refunds, are encouraged to contact Detective V. Thomas at (817) 220-0828 if they suspect unauthorized charges.
The Springtown Police Department emphasized financial safety tips, including monitoring statements, setting up transaction alerts, avoiding giving cards out of sight, using mobile wallets, updating PINs and passwords regularly, and reviewing credit reports.
The department thanked the public for cooperation and urged residents to report any suspicious activity promptly.
