Greater Noida Police arrested CRPF constable Tariq Anwar and his wife, Rimpa Khatoon, on Sunday, January 18, 2026, for allegedly assaulting a 10-year-old girl they had brought to their government accommodation for domestic work without official permission.
Police said the girl, a relative of Rimpa Khatoon, is currently on a ventilator at a private hospital in Noida after being allegedly subjected to prolonged physical abuse and starvation.
Tariq Anwar, a constable in the 235th Battalion of the CRPF, and his wife reportedly kept the child at their CRPF camp residence. The CRPF confirmed Anwar’s suspension and said internal proceedings were underway to assist the police investigation.
Authorities are conducting a thorough inquiry into the circumstances, including how the child was brought into the CRPF housing and the extent of abuse. Police have assured that strict legal action will be taken against both accused under applicable laws protecting minors.
