GREENVILLE, Pitt County — A 21-year-old Greenville woman, Ja’Niya Hudson, was arrested on Saturday, January 17, by the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office in connection with assault and domestic violence-related offenses.
According to arrest warrants, Hudson faces two counts of simple assault, one count of domestic violence, and misdemeanor child abuse.
Records indicate Hudson, acting as a caregiver and supervisor for a 9-year-old child, allegedly inflicted physical injury, resulting in a cut to the child’s left knuckle after striking and headbutting.
Warrants also state Hudson used physical force against an adult victim during a domestic incident, reportedly scratching, hitting, and biting the victim, causing visible injuries. The adult victim was reportedly in a spousal relationship with Hudson at the time.
Hudson is currently held at the Pitt County Detention Center. She was issued a $3,500 secured bond for the child abuse charge but was denied bond for the domestic violence charge.
