Marvin Pope Arrested in Graysville Narcotics Bust

81-year-old charged with drugs and firearms violations

GRAYSVILLE, Ala. — Narcotics detectives, with assistance from Forestdale Patrol, executed a search warrant on Nov. 19, 2025, at a residence in the 500 block of Windsor Dr. NE in the Graysville community, leading to the arrest of 81-year-old Marvin Pope.

Authorities seized nine grams of methamphetamine, 0.3 grams of fentanyl, 26 Xanax pills, as well as weapons including a Winchester 12-gauge shotgun, a Ruger .38-caliber semi-automatic handgun, and a Taurus .40-caliber semi-automatic handgun.

Additional items recovered included narcotics packaging material, a glass pipe, and a cell phone.

Pope faces multiple charges, including Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess a Pistol, Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

He is currently held at the Jefferson County Jail with bond set at $61,000. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 205-325-1450 or Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
