PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — Brian Scott Thompson was arrested Friday night on suspicion of theft and drug possession, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
Thompson was taken into custody in connection with a petit theft charge, with the report noting two or more prior convictions for similar offenses. He was also charged with possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription.
Authorities did not release specific details regarding the alleged theft, including the type of merchandise or the location, nor did they disclose the controlled substance involved. Thompson’s bond status and initial court appearance details were also not immediately available.
Under Florida law, petit theft charges can carry enhanced penalties for repeat offenders, while drug possession penalties vary based on the substance and circumstances.
Sheriff’s officials emphasized that these are allegations, and Thompson is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
