The Gajuwaka police seized 184 kilograms of ganja, packed in 94 covers, near Vuda Colony on Tuesday, authorities said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police-2 (Law and Order) D. Mary Prashanthi stated that, based on reliable information, Task Force Inspector R. Appala Naidu alerted the police about suspects storing ganja in the area. Acting on the tip-off, Circle Inspector S.K. Nazir and his team conducted a raid, arresting eight persons involved in the illegal possession and sale of ganja.
The accused were identified as Imran Khan, Arjun Kumar, K. Balaji Krishna, B. Kumar Sahoo, D. Khara, S. Matham, S. Ramachandra, and K. Manoj. Police also seized a car and eight mobile phones from the accused during the operation.
Authorities emphasized that the seizure was part of ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking in Gajuwaka and surrounding areas.
