FORT GAY, W.Va. — A Fort Gay man is facing multiple charges after law enforcement officers discovered drugs and weapons inside his home, according to local authorities.
Fort Gay Police said they executed a search warrant early Wednesday morning at the residence of Wayne Fowler, working alongside the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department. The search was part of a months-long investigation, officials said.
During the search, officers reportedly seized a distribution-level quantity of crack cocaine and methamphetamine, along with weapons and several thousand rounds of ammunition.
Police noted that the situation posed a significant threat to public safety due to the home’s proximity to a nearby school.
Fowler was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Western Regional Jail on a $20,000 bond.
As with all criminal cases, the charges are allegations, and Fowler is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
