Karan Pathak Arrested in Kabaddi Promoter Rana Balachauria Murder

Punjab Police Nab Shooters and Accomplice Across States

Punjab Police have arrested Karan Pathak alias Karan Defaulter, Tarandeep Singh, and Akashdeep in connection with the sensational murder of Kabaddi promoter Kanwar Digvijay Singh alias Rana Balachauria from Howrah, West Bengal.

The arrests were made with the assistance of the Sikkim, Mumbai, and West Bengal police, central agencies, and local Howrah authorities. According to DGP Gaurav Yadav, Karan and Tarandeep were the shooters in the incident, while Akashdeep, a close relative of foreign-based handler Amar Khabe Rajputa, provided shelter and logistical support.

Balachauria was shot dead during a Kabaddi tournament at Sohana in SAS Nagar on December 15, 2025. This development brings the total number of accused arrested in the case to five, including two others, Aishdeep Singh and Davinder, who were apprehended earlier.

DGP Yadav emphasized the collaborative effort between multiple state police departments and central agencies in tracking down the culprits.
