by Sophia Bennett

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — A Bedford County man has been charged for his alleged involvement in a Facebook Marketplace car sales scam, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Authorities say David Echeverria, 47, posted multiple vehicles for sale in July 2024 using his Facebook profile, claiming to represent Mountain Boss Hoss Cycle, a dealership in Somerset County.

Investigators allege Echeverria sold vehicles without being listed as a salesperson for the dealership. He is also accused of selling cars for private individuals across Pennsylvania, including several in Cumberland County.

Both Echeverria and Mountain Boss Hoss Cycle face charges for violating the Pennsylvania Board of Vehicles Act, and authorities continue investigating the full scope of the alleged fraud.
