Surat: The Udhna police have arrested four more individuals in connection with the massive Rs 1,550 crore cyberfraud case. Authorities recovered Rs 1.92 crore in cash and valuables worth Rs 2.60 crore from the suspects.

The accused allegedly converted funds from the cybercrime into US dollars, which were then transferred to Chinese cyberfraud syndicates. So far, police have arrested 29 people linked to this international scam, which involved 164 mule accounts handling Rs 1,550 crore.

The newly arrested suspects include Abdulrab Chamadiya (32), an Adajan-based import-export trader; Amit Choksi (45), a money-transfer businessman; and courier operators Chirag Sutariya and Pravin Gadhiya.

Zone-2 DCP Kanan Desai explained, “Our investigation revealed Rs 90 lakh was transferred to Choksi’s father’s account. Chamadiya routed this to Choksi, who withdrew it and returned it to Chamadiya. The funds were then converted to USDT by Sutariya and Gadhiya before being sent back to Chamadiya.”

Raids on the accused’s offices and lockers led to the seizure of Rs 1.92 crore cash, three gold bars worth Rs 34 lakh, two silver bars worth Rs 27.42 lakh, diamonds, and four money-counting machines.

The scam came to light on May 21, 2025, when police discovered suspicious bank documents during a routine vehicle check. This led to multiple raids and the identification of 164 mule accounts receiving fraudulent funds. Among the 29 arrested are eight bank officers.

The Udhna police have filed a 1.5 lakh-page chargesheet, the largest in any cybercrime case in Gujarat to date.
