NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — An 18-year-old has been arrested in connection with a shooting outside Northwoods Mall on November 8, 2025.
Authorities report that Jaipell Hope voluntarily turned himself in on Friday morning. Police allege that Hope shot a male victim on the sidewalk outside the mall. Fortunately, the victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators believe the incident may be linked to a prior altercation between Hope and the victim two years ago, when both were high school students. Officials say their encounter at the mall appears to have been coincidental.
Hope now faces three counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He is currently being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center pending further legal proceedings.
