MOBILE, Ala. — A 76-year-old Silverhill man, James Odom, was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Mobile County Metro Jail on a murder charge following a shooting on Forest Park Drive in Mobile.
Odom was booked at 8:51 p.m. Tuesday, according to police and jail records. Authorities responded around midday to a residence in the 5400 block of Forest Park Drive, where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound outside the home. The victim later died at the scene.
This marks the second violent incident at the same residence in recent weeks. In December, police arrested 34-year-old Justin Keith McGowan of Wilmer, who allegedly stabbed his father to death during an argument at the home. McGowan is also charged with murder.
Police have not released further details regarding the motive or circumstances surrounding Odom’s arrest.
