Terry Ballinger Arrested in Springfield Narcotics Case

Man faces multiple charges including drug and firearm offenses

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — A Springfield man has been arrested following a narcotics investigation, facing multiple criminal charges.

Terry Ballinger, 38, was taken into custody on December 10 by the Springfield Police Department’s Pro-Active Crime Unit after an ongoing investigation into illegal drug activity.

Police executed a search warrant at Ballinger’s residence with assistance from the department’s Street Crimes Unit. Officers recovered approximately 13 grams of suspected crack cocaine, a semi-automatic pistol, and U.S. currency.

Ballinger faces several charges, including armed habitual criminal, manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and possession of firearms without a FOID card. He was transported to the Sangamon County Jail.
