Karamadai police in Coimbatore district have arrested three individuals, including a woman, for the brutal murder of 23-year-old Sanjay in Aayarpadi. The accused have been identified as P Kamalakannan (20), K Nagaraj (19), both from Edaiyarpalayam, and B Keerthana (22) of Mangalakarai.
Sanjay, who worked as a milkman, was found dead in his rental house on Tuesday, having suffered around 12 injuries to his face and neck. His family had recently moved to a house opposite the rental property, leaving him alone at the scene.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Sanjay had allegedly spread false information about Keerthana. She reportedly approached her cousin Kamalakannan, who, along with his friend Nagaraj, planned and executed the murder. Early Tuesday morning, Keerthana informed the duo of Sanjay’s location. The pair entered the rental house, assaulted him with deadly weapons, and fled the scene.
The Karamadai police registered a case under murder charges and arrested all three. They have been remanded to judicial custody, and further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
