Jesus Cumpian Arrested for Impersonating Officer in Laredo

Man allegedly posed as police and federal agent

LAREDO, Texas – A man was arrested after allegedly impersonating law enforcement officers at a local establishment, Laredo police said.

Jesus Cumpian was charged on Saturday, Dec. 6, with impersonating a public servant following an incident at Hal’s Landing on the 6500 block of Arena Blvd.

According to security personnel, Cumpian first identified himself as a Laredo police officer and later claimed to be a federal officer. He allegedly attempted to convince security staff to allow a woman with an invalid ID to enter the establishment.

Police responded to the scene after the incident was reported. Cumpian was taken into custody and charged accordingly.
