At least four Nigerian nationals have been arrested in India in connection with drug-related offenses following separate anti-narcotics operations carried out between Thursday and late Saturday.

Reports from Indian media outlets indicate that the arrests were made in different locations across the country as part of coordinated efforts by security agencies to clamp down on illicit drug trafficking.

Those arrested were identified as 37-year-old Tanguy Nguessan, along with Touchi, Henry, and IK Prince.

According to a report by the Free Press Journal, operatives of the Tulinj Police Detection Team, working in collaboration with the Anti-Terrorism Cell, arrested Nguessan during a raid in the Pragati Nagar area of Nalasopara East.

The operation was reportedly launched after authorities received intelligence that a suspect was expected in the area to traffic narcotics. Acting on the tip-off, security personnel moved in and apprehended the Nigerian national.

A search conducted on Nguessan allegedly led to the recovery of 60 grams of cocaine, estimated to be worth about Rs12.6 million, which translates to roughly ₦205 million on the international market. He is currently in police custody as investigations continue to trace his alleged drug network.

In a related development, Bhaskar English reported that the Jaipur Police Commissionerate arrested two other Nigerians, identified as Touchi and Henry, over their alleged involvement in the trafficking of MD drugs in Rajasthan.

The suspects were arrested in separate raids carried out in Faridabad, Haryana, and Delhi. Their arrest followed the earlier apprehension of three drug traffickers found in possession of MD drugs valued at Rs550,000 in Jaipur’s Transport Nagar area.

During interrogation, the suspects reportedly revealed that the drugs were supplied by Touchi, leading to his arrest in Faridabad. Subsequent investigations led authorities to Henry, who was later apprehended in Delhi.
