Adam Quesenberry Arrested for Elderly Homeowner Fraud

Beckley Man Faces Multiple Felony Charges for Scam

RALEIGH COUNTY, W.Va. — Adam Quesenberry, 32, of Beckley, is facing multiple felony charges after authorities say he took thousands of dollars from elderly homeowners for construction work that was never completed.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Raleigh County Magistrate Court, Quesenberry is charged with two counts each of obtaining money by false pretenses, grand larceny, and financial exploitation of an elderly person.

Investigators say the case began in November 2025 after a complaint was filed regarding a roofing project. Quesenberry, operating as “Quesenberry Construction,” allegedly presented himself as a licensed and bonded contractor and provided a $14,000 estimate for a roof replacement. The contract required a 75% down payment of $10,500, which was paid by check and cashed the same day.

The complaint states that work was scheduled for early October but never began, and no roofing materials were delivered. Text messages allegedly show Quesenberry repeatedly cited delays involving materials and scheduling. Investigators confirmed that no materials had been ordered and that his West Virginia contractor’s license had been suspended before the contract.

When the victims requested a refund, Quesenberry reportedly failed to return the money and gave various excuses, later admitting he could not repay the funds due to personal and financial issues. Because the victims are elderly, he faces additional charges of financial exploitation.

Quesenberry is currently held at Southern Regional Jail on a $150,000 bond.
