SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. — A Spartanburg woman has been arrested on identity fraud charges following an investigation by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED).

Ariel Renee Bridges, 27, was charged on Dec. 30 after the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles requested a probe into her actions.

The case stems from an incident on Nov. 20, when Bridges allegedly applied for and received a driver’s license using a false name at the DMV on Southport Road in Spartanburg. The investigation ultimately led to her arrest.

Bridges was booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Center and the case will be prosecuted by the 7th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
