BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — A Birmingham man was sentenced to more than two decades in federal prison for drug and firearm offenses, U.S. Attorney Prim F. Escalona announced.
39-year-old Bryant Lamar Robertson received a 275-month prison sentence from U.S. District Judge Madeline H. Haikala after being convicted of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine; possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence or drug trafficking; and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Court documents state that on August 14, 2024, deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office attempted a traffic stop on Robertson. He fled and crashed at a Citgo station on Ensley 5-Points West Avenue, where a sheriff’s SUV also struck a gas pump.
Deputies recovered 492 grams of methamphetamine, 18 grams of cocaine, 26 grams of fentanyl, 48 grams of heroin, and 18 grams of a fentanyl–methamphetamine mixture from Robertson’s vehicle. They also seized two stolen firearms, five cell phones, digital scales, packaging materials, a backpack, and a fanny pack.
The case was investigated by the FBI and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Darius C. Greene.
