YORK COUNTY, S.C. — A South Carolina woman has been arrested following an investigation into an allegedly falsified legal document.

According to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED), 60-year-old Kelly P. Wilkins was charged with forgery on December 19 after the York Police Department requested assistance with the case.

Investigators allege that on January 8, 2025, Wilkins created a fraudulent expungement letter related to a previous shoplifting charge. The document reportedly included a forged signature and was later presented to her manager as legitimate.

SLED agents said evidence gathered during the investigation led to a warrant being issued for Wilkins’ arrest. She was subsequently booked into the York County jail.
