TATUM, Texas — The second of three suspects in an East Texas car theft investigation has surrendered to authorities.

Tatum Police reported that on Dec. 8, Cecil Deon Ruffin, wanted for a series of vehicle burglaries dating back to June 26, turned himself in to the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities had issued a warrant for Ruffin’s arrest on Aug. 26 for engaging in organized criminal activity.

Ruffin is currently held at Rusk County Jail on a $50,000 bond. One suspect in the case remains at large.

“Tatum Police Department is pleased with the progress of this case, and stand ready to testify in criminal trials if called upon,” the department stated on social media.
