£800K Parcel Fraud Gang Jailed – Three Fugitives on the Run

Birmingham-Based Crime Ring Stole High-Value Goods in Courier Scam

by Amelia Crawford

A gang of crooked couriers who stole more than £800,000 worth of computers, TVs, and other valuables have been sentenced to nearly 30 years in prison. The sophisticated scam involved rerouting high-value parcels to addresses under their control before selling them online.

How the Scam Worked
Five workers at a Kingsbury parcel courier company conspired to steal goods between September 2022 and February 2023. They used fake delivery labels to redirect packages containing electronics, e-bikes, and other expensive items. Some of the stolen goods were sold on Facebook Marketplace and eBay, while others were prepared for shipment to Romania.

Even family members were involved—one defendant’s partner and another’s parents helped buy labels and received stolen goods.

Police Investigation and Arrests
The scam was exposed after a spike in missing parcel claims from business customers. The courier company launched an internal investigation and discovered over-labeled parcels, leading to a Warwickshire Police raid. Officers seized stolen items and £37,000 in cash.
