A 65-year-old woman and a 20-year-old youth were arrested on Sunday for their involvement in the illegal sale of narcotic pills purchased online. The arrests took place in Chithode, Erode district, after a tip-off about the illicit sale of controlled substances in the area.
Thilagavai, a resident of Odhappallam, was initially detained by the police based on the information provided. Upon questioning her, the authorities arrested Santhoshkumar and conducted a search at his residence. During the search, the police recovered 90 narcotic pills, insulin, three syringes, and other related items.
Both individuals are now facing charges related to the sale and distribution of illegal substances. Investigations are ongoing as police work to uncover further details about the operation and whether more individuals are involved.
